BEACHES
NGAPALI BEACH (THANDWE)
Ngapali is one of the beautiful beaches in Myanmar. This
unspoiled beach is located on the Rakhine coast near Thandwe.
It is said to have been named after the Naples of Italy by a
homesick Italian. It is famous for its natural and unspotted
beauty, stretches about 3 km long with soft white sand
fringed by coconut palms. Fresh breeze through the blue sea
while taking sun bath on the white sand invites you to hide
from your bustling life.
NGWE HSAUNG (SLIVER) BEACH
A beach resort of Myanmar, can be called Myanmar Langkawi.
But Myanmar's Ngwe Hsaung will be more pleasant and
extensive than Malaysia's Langkawi due to its 9 mile
stretching white sand beach. The beach was named as Ngwe
Hsaung based on Ngwe Hsaung Village in Pathein Township,
(30) miles away from Pathein.
CHAUNG THA (PLEASANT STREAM) BEACH
One beach resort that has gained fame and popularity since
the latter half of 1990 is the Chaung Thar (Pleasant Stream)
Beach Resort. Located some 154 miles from the Capital City
of Yangon and only 34 miles from Pathein, Chaung Thar is the
nearest ocean resort available to foreign tourists, being
easily reached from Yangon in 5 hour drive. It is the most
popular beach for local so that you love this beach if you
wish to observe our life.
SETSE BEACH
It lies 24 km south of Kyaikkami and 16 km south-west of
Thanbyuzayut, Mon State. It is a very wide, brown-sand beach
that tends toward tidal flats when the shallow surf-line
recedes at low tide. The beach is lined by waving casuarinas
trees. Vendors sell fresh young coconuts full of juice, and
restaurants serve seafood. It is one of the noted beaches in
Myanmar.
KANTHARYAR BEACH
Another Located 290 km from Yangon near Gwa on the Rakhine
Coast, Kanthaya Beach is accessible by an 8 hour drive from
Yangon over forested mountain road. |
