SPECIAL TOURTour :: 1 2 GBS SPL Tour 1: MYANMAR CUISINE TOUR FOR GOURMET Yangon - Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin - Mandalay - Mingun - Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Kalaw - Inle - Yangon. ( 14 Days/ 13 Nights ) The cuisine of Myanmar has been influenced by Chinese and
Indian cooking, but it has its own distinct flavor. The
staple food is rice (htamin) served with mild curries (hin)
made with vegetables, chicken, fish or seafood. Ngapi, a
sharp-tasting, salty paste made with fermented fish, shrimp
or prawns, is used to flavor many dishes. “Mohinga” a
popular dish, combines rice noodles and a yellow fish soup.
Another favorite is “Athok” (fruit and vegetable salad).
This incentive program presents for gourmet who wish to
taste our cuisines while exploring tour through Myanmar. Day – 1: Arrival Yangon
Arrive Yangon, Myanmar and the group will be welcome by our
gourmet guide at Yangon International Airport. Transfer to
one of the best hotel in Yangon. We've scheduled a late
afternoon visit to most revered and most famous landmark,
one of the World's wonder " Shwedagon Pagoda " at dusk, as
the Sun begins to fall over the City. Dinner will be served
at one of the best Myanmar Cuisine restaurant. Overnight at
one the best hotel in Yangon. Day – 2: Yangon
Breakfast at hotel. Today please wear comfortable slip- on
shoe without Socks -as we begin our tour of Yangon from the
2000 years old Sule Pagoda. We'll explore the downtown area,
where the ghost of the British Colonial influence still
prevails. From there we will visit the (64m) long massive
reclining Buddha at Chaukhtagyi Paya. Lunch will be follow
by a cooking demonstration of Myanmar delicacy. Everyone
will be given a Hpaso and Longyi to wear and Keep- the
traditional Myanmar Sarong for both men and women with
instruction on how to knot and keep taut. Afterwards a visit
to China Town Area and experience first hand its rustic
market. Overnight at one of the best hotel in Yangon. Day – 3: Yangon
After breakfast, your full day excursion begins from
Yangon's most bustling flower and fruit market. The Scene is
crowded but lively and interesting, and a great place to
learn about local foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables. Then
visit to Yangon National Museum. (Photography is prohibited
and bags are not allow inside the Museum ). After Museum,
GBS Tours has arranged a sumptuous lunch of Chinese Cuisine.
After lunch, the afternoon is devoted exclusively to
shopping in the vast and sprawling Scott Market, today known
as Bogyoke Aung San Market. The market is fill with Myanmar
Souvenirs, from lacquer ware to gems and jewelry ( which are
available at extremely discounted prices ). Dinner at one of
the best Indian Restaurant in town. Overnight at one of the
hotel in Yangon. Day - 4 : Yangon – Mandalay by flight
After breakfast, or breakfast box, transfer to Yangon
Airport to fly to Mandalay. The City of Mandalay took it
name from the Mandalay Hill, which is situated at the north
east corner of the town. Founded and built by King Mindon in
( AD 1856- 57 ). Arrive Mandalay and drive to Amarapura
City, to visit Mahaghandha Yone Monestary, where 700 to 800
Monks are residing, learning Dhamma ( Buddhist philosophy ).
Lunch at Amarapura Restaurant - Thai cuisine will be served
this afternoon. Then drive straight to Maymyo, now Pyin Oo
Lwin, 67 km northest of Mandalay, lies the hill station of
Maymyo, situated at around ( 1.100 in ) above sea level.
Arrive Pyin Oo Lwin late in the evening and check - in to
hotel. Dinner will be served at hotel or at local
restaurant. Overnight at one of the hotel in Pyin Oo Lwin.
Day - 5 : Pyin Oo Lwin
Breakfast at hotel. Then your excursion for the morning
begin from Maymyo Colourful market. After that, a visit to
Pwei - gauk waterfalls-drive through Colonial buildings
area, Chinese Temple and lunch at one of the local eatery. A
brief Siesta at the hotel after lunch. Then in the
afternoon, cooking demonstration, one of the local Shan
delicacy. After cooking classes we will all visit to
Botanical Garden, laid out by Sir Harcourt Butler , governor
of Burma, established in 1914 and located just south of
town. Dinner at hotel or at local restaurant. Overnight at
one of the hotel in Pyin Oo Lwin. Day – 6: Pyin Oo Lwin – Mandalay by coach
After breakfast, drive back to Mandalay City. On the way
back to Mandalay we will stop by at one of the Village where
local sell their produce, varieties of fruits and
vegetables, among you will find pure honey with garlic, good
for men potency according to the locals. Then drive towards
Mandalay, a stop at view point and proceed to Mandalay.
Check - in at one of the best hotel in Mandalay. Lunch at
one of the local restaurant in Mandalay. After lunch, we
will pay a visit to Maha Muni Pagoda. It is also called the
Payagyi -literally ( Great Pagoda ) and the Arakan Pagoda.
Just close by is where local crafts men are carving Buddha
images of different size and different Mudra ( hand gesture
) , from Alabaster stone. Then we will visit to puppet and
tapestries work - shop. After that to bronze casting, where
the local are casting bronze images of all kinds, starting
from figures to Bells of different size and design. Late in
the evening, we will drive to U - Bein Bridge, which was
constructed out of Material Salvaged from the forsaken Ava
Palace. The bridge the longest made from teak in the World
is ( 1.2 Km ) long, and we will enjoy the best Sun Set from
there. Overnight at one of the best hotel in Mandalay. Day – 7 : Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay by boat
Breakfast at hotel. Today we will visit Mingun. Mingun
itself is a Village located on the west bank of the
Ayeyarwaddy, roughly 7 miles ( 10.5 )km north of Mandalay.
We will sail on a private boat and lunch will be served on
board the boat. Mingun has two remarkable landmarks, both
projects of King Bodawpaya - the Mingun Bell and the Pagoda.
The construction of the Mingun Pahtodawgyi was began in
1790. In 1838 an earthquake struck and part of the building
collapsed, today you can still see a huge fissure in the
giant mound of brickwork. In the afternoon sail back to
Mandalay, drive to hotel and the rest of the afternoon
leisure. Dinner will be served. Overnight at one of the best
hotel in Mandalay. Day - 8 : Mandalay – Bagan by boat
Early rise, breakfast box will be arrange by GBS Tours.
Transfer to jetty to embark on a Shwe Keinary boat. Today we
will sail to Bagan on a triple Decker boat together with
many other tourists. The boat trip will take us
approximately 7 hours but very enjoyable and interesting.
Ala- cart Menu is available on board the boat. Soft drinks
and beer are available too. (Today lunch , on board the boat
clients own account ). Late afternoon arrive Bagan and check
- in to hotel. A sumptuous dinner at special place.
Overnight at one of the best hotel in Bagan. Day - 9 : Bagan
Breakfast at hotel, then your full day excursion begin from
Nyaung Oo Market. After that the next object of interest
will be Shwezigon Pagoda. Then a visit to Kyansittha U -Min
( cave temple ). After here we will proceed to Htilo Minlo
Temple. Lunch will be served by the Ayeyarwaddy River. After
lunch - your afternoon programme start from Manuha Temple
and Nan Paya, then to Gubyaukgyi Temple. Sun Set from Shwe
Sandaw Pagoda. Dinner at local restaurant with puppet shows.
Overnight at one of the best hotel in Bagan. Day- 10 : Bagan – Heho by flight– Pindaya by coach
Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to Nyaung Oo airport to
fly to Heho airport. Drive to Pindaya, where tourist
essentially visit Pindaya for its celebrated caves ( Shwe -U
Min or Golden Cave), formed 200,000 millions years ago.
Lunch at local restaurant in Pindaya. After lunch we will
visit some local handicraft Shops, where the local make
paper umbrella. Then drive to Kalaw, situated at about 1100m
above sea level. Kalaw is nestling in the heart of the pine
- studed Shan Hills, a former British hill - resort left
lying with Colonial -Style houses. Dinner at one of the
local restaurant. Cooking demonstration will be there before
dinner is served. For tonight dinner Danu delicacy will be
served. Overnight at one of the best hotel in Kalaw. Day - 11 : Kalaw – Inle by coach
Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Nyaung Shwe and check in
at one of the best hotel on Lake Proper. Afternoon leisure.
Lunch at Hotel. Late that Afternoon, we're all going for a
Canoe ride on Inle lake. Dinner at hotel, Shan traditional
food. Overnight at one of the best hotel on lake proper. Day - 12 : Inle
Breakfast at hotel. Today your full day excursion begins
from once every five days market day. On such market day,
you will encounter tribal people, like Pa-O, Danu. Taungyo
and Intha ( the lake - dwellers ), bringing their produce to
Sell at market . Then we will visit Inpaw Khone Village,
where people are involved in traditional hand - loom
business. After that to Black - smith and cheroot factory (
Burmese cigars) and Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda. Lunch at one of the
best restaurant on lake proper. After lunch a visit to
Silver Smith and ( Kodak moment ) at Padaung place. The next
object of interest will be at the floating gardens. Then we
will visit Jumping Cat Monastery". Not to miss the Sunset
from hotel, we must all drive back to hotel to have a lovely
Sun Set. Dinner at hotel. Overnight at one of the best hotel
on lake proper. Day - 13 : Inle – Heho – Yangon by flight
Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer to Heho airport to fly
back to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and check - in at one of the
best hotel in Yangon. Dinner will be served on Karaweik
barge restaurant. ( with Myanmar Culture Show). Overnight at
